incoloy926 (n08926) Nickel-based alloy overview
The content of Cr in incoloy926 (n08926) nickel-based alloy is generally 14.0-18.0%, and the content of nickel is 24.0-26.0%. In nickel-based alloys with higher chromium content, the chromium content can protect the nickel-based alloy more than the traditional nickel-based alloy (N6); the high nickel content makes it better oxidation resistance than standard 18-8 stainless steel. At the working temperature of 1900 degrees (1038℃) or above, its oxidation resistance is no lower than that of Dahua Alloy.

Main characteristics of incoloy926 (n08926) nickel-based alloy
Incoloy926 (n08926) has good pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in halide media and H2S-containing acidic media.
In practical applications, it can effectively resist chloride ion stress corrosion and cracking.
In normal redox environment, it has excellent corrosion resistance.
The mechanical properties are better than that of cronifer 1925lc-904L alloy.
When the nickel content is 18%, the metallurgical stability of the alloy is greatly improved.
It has been used in pressure vessel manufacturing certification (vdtuv-196~400℃ and ASME certification).

Processing and heat treatment of incoloy926 (n08926) nickel-based alloy
Incoloy926 nickel-based alloy is suitable for cold processing, hot processing and mechanical processing. However, due to its high strength, both cold and hot processing require high power processing equipment.
●Heating of incoloy926 (n08926) alloy:
(1) Keep the workpiece clean before and during heat treatment.
(2) During the heat treatment process, contact with low-melting metals such as sulfur, phosphorus, and lead is not allowed, otherwise the performance of the material will be damaged. Pay attention to removing dirt such as marking paint, temperature display paint, colored pens, lubricating oil, fuel and other dirt.
(3) The lower the sulfur content in the fuel, the better. The sulfur content in natural gas should be less than 0.1%, and the sulfur content in heavy oil should be less than 0.5%.
(4) Taking into account the need for temperature control and keeping clean, heat treatment is performed in a vacuum furnace or gas protection furnace.
(5) It can also be heated in a box furnace or gas furnace, but the furnace gas must be clean, neutral or slightly oxidized. Avoid fluctuations between the oxidation and reducing properties of the furnace gas, and the heating flame cannot directly burn onto the workpiece.
●Thermal processing of incoloy926 (n08926) alloy:
(1) The cooling method of the alloy is hot air cooling method, with a working temperature of 1200℃~900℃.
(2) During the heating process, the material can be directly sent to the furnace with a temperature rise. After sufficient insulation time (60 minutes of insulation every 100mm thickness), the material can be quickly released within the specified temperature range and heat-processed in the high-temperature section. Reheating is required when the material temperature drops below the hot processing temperature.
(3) In order to obtain optimal performance, solid solution treatment should be carried out after hot processing.
●Cold processing of incoloy926 (n08926) alloy:
(1) Like all austenitic CrNi stainless steels, the incoloy926 (n08926) alloy has a high work hardening rate, so it is necessary to select processing equipment. Cold-processed materials should be subjected to solid solution heat treatment, and intermediate annealing should be performed when the cold-processed volume is large.
(2) If the cold processing capacity is greater than 15%, a secondary solid solution treatment is required.
●Heat treatment of incoloy926 (n08926) alloy:
(1) The temperature range of solution treatment is 1150℃~1200℃, and the solution temperature is 1170℃.
(2) For materials with a thickness greater than 1.5mm, the cooling method is water quenching; for materials with a thickness less than 1.5mm, rapid air cooling can also be used. If using air cooling.
(3) During the heat treatment process, the material can be directly sent to the furnace at the highest working temperature, and the workpiece must be kept clean.
